Artisan: The Gujarat Weavers
Beautiful handmade rugs are woven on a nomadic loom that is extremely simple and portable and can be easily set up anywhere. The yarn used is not dyed – the black, white and grey are the natural sheep hair colours, giving these rugs a very earthy and sophisticated feel.
This technique is on the verge of extinction. Dayabhai and his son are one of the last families to practice Kharad weaving.
Dimensions: 2'7 x 6'3.
