Artisan: Connecting Worlds
Part of a 12-piece collection in collaboration with recent graduates of Turquoise Mountain in Kabul and jewelry designer Garnish by Kara Hamilton in Toronto, the bronze and lapis plate necklace is a statement piece handcrafted from natural bronze and a large oval lapis lazuli stone.
Kara Hamilton travelled to Kabul where she spent a week working directly with the artisans to finalize each piece in this collaboration. The artisans in turn were given a rare opportunity to work with an international designer and gain exposure to new designs, techniques and trends.
