Buy Less, Buy Better

With compensation talks beginning in Geneva yesterday to address the horrific factory collapse in Bangladesh last spring, the garment industry - and all of its short comings - is back in the limelight. There has been a lot of discussion about what the big brands are doing to help the situation, and certainly steps are in place to hopefully ensure that a tragedy like this will never happen again. But there's more to consider.

 We are all responsible. Of course we need to dress our children and ourselves, so we buy the shirt that works with our budget. But we don't need 25 shirts. We think we do, but we don't. It comes down to quality over quantity, and we as consumers need to change our thinking - and our habits. Buy less. Buy better.
