Khadija Seddiqi became interested in woodwork after her mother participated in a vocational training course. Despite her mother's initial reservations, Khadija enrolled for a three-year woodwork course at the Turquoise Mountain Institute. Since graduating in 2010, she has worked in Nasser Mansoori's workshop, and teaches traditional Afghan carving to expatriates in Kabul. Khadija particularly loves Nuristani woodcarving techniques: "I enjoy working with wood to bring old traditions back to life" she says "making the ancient relevant to the modern world."
