What:Hiro & Wolf Jewelry
Style signature:Handmade sophisticated jewelry featuring highly polished silver plate and gold tone brass, as well as traditional wood carvings and beaded work.
Backstory:Located in Mombasa, Kenya, the Bombolulu Workshops work with over 100 artisans with various physical disabilities. Since 1969, this nonprofit organization has empowered thousands of artisans, giving them the necessary tools and confidence to create beautiful crafts and jewelry of supreme quality. Bombolulu is also a safe haven for its members and offers them shelter, a source of income and medical benefits. Bombolulu helps its residents overcome their physical limitations and empowers them socially and economically to become fully integrated members of their communities. Hiro & Wolf is just one of the jewelry lines that is crafted here. Strips of brass are coiled, cast, cut and hammered to produce never-ending combinations of quality, handmade jewelry.
“We have been working on some brilliant designs for the new jewelry collection - it is hard, tough and sometimes soul destroying, but it's worth it when we are able to see all of the people we are helping."
