Spring has arrived, though it doesn’t exactly feel like it at our headquarters in Toronto. After an especially harsh winter spent in boring black coats and snow boots, we are excited to welcome a number of colourful new items to our collection! Here’s a sneak peek of what is to come.
We are continuing to forge new relationships with artisans around the world, and have gained new partners in Swaziland, Tanzania, and Afghanistan. We are also replenishing some popular favourites on the site, including these kantha scarves from House of Wandering Silk in India that just came in. Each scarf is handmade and one-of-a-kind, so if you see one you like, don’t hesitate!
These placemats and table runners from Gone Rural in Swaziland have us excited for Easter tablescapes and backyard barbecues and we will have them in in a range of colours very soon. They are woven by a collective of women weavers using predominantly Lutindzi, a naturally durable, fibrous sour grass found in the mountains of Swaziland.
If jewelry is more your thing...
We love these beaded hoop earrings and Warrior bracelet from Sidai Designs in Tanzania, created by Maasai women and inspired by their traditional dress and ornamentation.
And check out these necklaces and bracelets from Quazi Designs in Swaziland that are - believe it or not - made of recycled magazines! These bright colours have us getting ahead of ourselves and dreaming about summer...
Keep an eye on our site as these things will be going up any day now. Here’s hoping Spring really does arrive sooner rather than later!
